Chromium-a fiction

Entering the lab, he pulled the door as hard as possible, grabbed her onto the corner, and cleared the table filled with dusty grease, bench vices, and borosilicate glass equipment.

Ouch!, she shouted as the shard of glass cut her hand slightly. He paused and asked, did that hurt?.

That’s okay! I want something more to hurt to subside this pain, she winked. He pulled her closer and unzipped her. They lost all their senses and were in the ecstasy of making love.

“This is the most fantastic feeling ever; go inside me, come on, pull hard, she moaned, sending the reverbs across the lab. Something from the corner flashed into his eyes, all bright enough to lose vision for a moment. She could see his face glowing; she dismissed the thought and lost in making love.

Although he indulged in this act, it occurred to him that there were no mirrors at that corner, but where was this reflection coming from, he wondered. He immediately rushed to reach the metal piece lying in the corner.

What is wrong with you? Where are you going? She yelled.

He took out the metal piece from the samples he had tested a month ago and observed that it was shining bright. He quickly went through the tag he catalogued in his records.

What was it, a diamond knife? She asked intriguingly, adjusting her dress.

He turned to her, holding the piece with excitement and said, “No, it was steel I was experimenting with”.

But by now, it should have corroded right, making it a dusty brown colour? She asked, confused.

Yes, you are right, but in this particular piece, I have alloyed it with chromium. Unfortunately, this means chromium cannot make steel more robust, which I’m trying to prove instead, can make it bright, shiny, meaning anti-corrosive, wow!! Eureka!!
